Welcome to Pre-K!

Welcome to Littleton Prep's Pre-K Program

Thank you for your interest in our Pre-K Program. Our philosophy is to help each child develop a love of learning and provide each child with a basic foundation for their future education at LPCS and beyond. We use field-tested, high-quality curriculum that allows children to learn in a hands on, FUN environment where they are nurtured and loved. We teach not only academics such as reading/phonics, math and follow the Core Knowledge sequence, but we help children with their social and emotional development. Children are eligible to attend if they are 4 years old by October 1.

We have three enrollment options; 3, 4 or 5 days per week. We have low ratios in our classrooms, (two teachers for 16 children), to allow each child to bond with and create a solid, long lasting relationship with the teachers.

Universal Pre-k

Universal Pre-k has started in Colorado! A ballot initiative in 2020 allowed for the creation of Universal Pre-k funding to help all 4 year old children in the state beginning in August of 2023. This program provides a minimum of 10 hours of instruction per week in the licensed program of the family's choosing. There are several other factors that will enable families to qualify for more hours and funding. Some of these factors may include, but are not limited to: low household income, being a dual language learner(or English is not the primary language at home) or the child having an Individualized Education Plan.

For more information on this program, contact the director or go to the website: Universal Pre-K

Registration will be starting soon for the 2024-2025 school year.

Level 5 Quality Rated Program

What is a Quality Rated Program? What is Colorado Shines?

Start Early and Start Strong

Early learning is so important that many parents begin the search for child care options months before a baby is even born. They know that finding a high-quality program is a critical first step in ensuring a child’s growth and development. No matter where you are in that process, Colorado Shines – the state’s quality rating and improvement system – is here to help you to identify the best child care solution for you and your family.

There are many factors that parents and caregivers should consider when looking for child care, including availability, cost and location. Studies show time and time again that quality is the most important consideration because children grow and develop so much in their first years of life.

Colorado Shines is a free resource. Colorado Shines utilizes a comprehensive approach to evaluate Colorado’s early learning programs in areas such as health and safety, training and teacher effectiveness, positive learning environment, continuing education and leadership – all characteristics that point to a program’s level of quality and ensures parents’ confidence in the program.

When utilizing Colorado Shines, parents can rest easy knowing that participating programs are committed to offering high-quality services and engaging in ongoing improvement practices.
